5 Ways to Conquer Your Work Week

Sundays are bittersweet. I enjoy being able to go to church, see family, and relax. But it is the moment around 6:30 pm that I start to cringe because yeah, I have work in the morning. This doesn’t happen every single week and no my job is not totally horrible….. but still. It’s just well, I’d rather stay in my bed until 10 am get coffee and get right back in bed and read or binge watch Netflix. Oh, and of course partaking in some retail therapy. That sounds great to me. But unfortunately for me that’s not happening. So instead, I am learning how to adult and conquer my work week a few tips at a time. At least to the best of my ability.

Tips to Conquering Your Work Week

Alarm Setting— Label It

First, I must say you must know yourself. If you know you are a snoozer provide yourself with enough alarms to snooze until you can get up. Label your alarms, make them have meaning. For example two of my alarms for work are: Work work work (Rhianna voice) and Thank you Lord for a Job->Career.

Mental To-Do List

When you wake up, think over your day. What do you need to do? Is there a meeting to prepare for? Do you have anything due? Emails to send or respond to? Calls to make? Don’t try to overload your day. And definitely leave room for any surprises.

Say a Daily Prayer

It doesn’t have to be long. Just simply spend time giving thanks for waking up. Ask God to keep his hands on you as you go throughout your day.

Grab A Morning Drink

Okay, so my drink of choice is definitely coffee. But maybe you choose tea, lemon water, or a protein shake. Whatever you choose, grab adorning drink to get you started. I know for me, a sip of coffee can make a difference in my morning.

Prep for the Week

Gather up a variety of work outfits for the week; you can even take it a step further and iron those outfits. This could literally free up 30 minutes of your morning struggle. Another way to jump start your morning is to have your lunch and snacks prepped. This makes it so much easier instead of having to gather the items before rushing out the door.

      Yes it can be hard, but it’s helpful in the morning. I stare at my closet hoping clothes jump out at me.

    These are some really good tips! Sundays can be hard when you had a full day of relaxing and have to prepare for work the next day lol.

    My favorite tips here are having a snooze button. I usually need two before waking. Also, the morning drink. It used to be coffee, but it keeps me wired up past my work day. So, I’ve opted for tea instead. Good share!

      Thanks so much! Yes I had to create a alarm just to snooze before. My prewake-up. I want to try getting into tea. I love coffee though

    Great read. It may sound weird, but I actually talk to myself while prepping daily. It keeps me from forgetting something, once I leave my home.

      Oh no I do too! That mental to do list is sometimes verbalized to myself. You are not the only one.

    Okay I love this ! I struggle with responding to emails and the alarm. I really need to label them I never thought of that.
