Neutrogena Hydro Boost
Have you tried the Neutrogena Hydro Boost?
During a work trip to Baton Rouge last month I started suffering from dry skin. I was having random dry flaky patches on my face (and yes I was moisturizing). My skin was peeling so bad that I couldn’t wear makeup for the meeting. During the drive back home I knew I was stoping at WalMart to pick up something for my skin. Due to my skin being oily, I didn’t have products related to dryness.
Instead of spending a ton of money on a new product at Ulta or Sephora, I decided to stop by WalMart. While browsing the skin care aisle, I stopped at the products you see here. Growing up I frequently used Neutrogena products for the horrible breakouts I faced. I also currently have another Neutrogena product in my skin care regimen. Keep reading for the review.
Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel
This gel is lightweight and clear; after mixing with water it lathers to clear your face of the day’s oil and makeup. After using this product my face felt fresh. I did not feel oily after use, which I was grateful for. As I stated above, I used this product due my face being completely dry. I was really afraid that these products would break my face out; the last product I tried a few months ago really broke my face out (be on the look out for that review). After a few days of using this product my face was no longer peeling and best of all I did not break out. My face has not felt too dry nor have I been oiler than in the past. I have continued to keep this cleansing gel in my skincare routine.
Directions: Wipe aways the day’s makeup. Wet face. Apply cleansing gel to hands. Add water. Work into a lather. Apply to face. Gently massage. Rinse. Pat dry.
Hydro Boost Water Gel
It does not take much to apply to the skin. I have learned that a little can go along way. One con to this product is that it seems to leave the jar a lot faster than I would like. However, I do know that I am slightly heavy handed when it comes to moisturizers so I partly blame myself. This water based gel is tinted blue unlike the clear cleansing gel. It goes on easily and absorbs fairly quickly; the product does not feel heavy on my face at all. My face feels moisturized and throughout the day. Although I don’t have a problem with the jar; my second con would be that in order to get product I have to stick my fingers inside. That may also be because I tend to scoop more than needed out as well.
Directions: Apply to the face and neck. Remember a little goes a long way.
I used these products after clearing my face of makeup or even before applying make up to my face.
I find the scent to be light and fresh. Since it isn’t strong or overpowering it works well for me.
In the photos, the cleansing gel (left side) is a tad bit runny as you can see in the bottom photo.
Water Gel: $15.97
Cleansing Gel: $7.97
Both products contain Hyaluronic Acid. After a little research, because well I am full of knowledge on the best and worst product ingredients (yet).I learned that this particular acid works to lubricate. Hyaluronic acid does not eliminate wrinkles, but works to moisturize the skin.
I highly recommend this product. What are your thoughts?
