I Like Lemon in my Water

I start my day with a hot water and lemon routine. I meditate. And I take my problems lightly, like my mother always said: treat them like helium balloons and let them go. I devour a lot of books to feed my mind.

This morning I got up and decided that I would drink lemon water to start my day instead of my usual coffee. After doing some research I found many benefits to adding lemon to your water. Drinking lemon water has many benefits that can helps to contribute to your daily electroyte intake (calcium, magnesium, potassium).

The Vitamin C that the lemons contain are great for the skin. Lemon water flushes out toxins from the body which aids in keeping the skin clear and blemish free. Higher levels of Vitamin C have been shown to give the skin a younger look and decreases wrinkles.

Lemon water aids the liver in producing more bile which helps the digestion of food throughout the body.

Lemons boost the immune system. When you start your morning off with Vitamin C you are givng your body a morning boost.

We have all heard that we should drink eight 8 ounce glasses of water a day. Adding lemon to your water gives you the same benefits as drinking water.

BEWARE:

When drinking lemon water, you should be cautious of the damage the acid can cause to your tooth enamel. A few ways to prevent/reduce acid contact with your teeth include drinking through a straw, rinsing mouth out with water after drinking, and waiting approximately two hours to brush your teeth after drinking.

((Remember to be careful with the lemons. Too much citric acid can erode tooth enamel.))
